Amanda Bentley

Psychologist

Amanda Bentley Amanda is a registered Psychologist and a member of the Australian Psychological Society. Amanda has a background in disabilities, particularly working with children and young adults, including their families; this includes (but not limited to) intellectual disability, autism, down syndrome and cerebral palsy. Helping individuals achieve their full potential through addressing the underlying causes of challenging behaviours remains a focus for Amanda. Amanda is also interested in the body and mind relationship, in particular with the impacts of trauma. Incorporating animals, such as horses and dogs as a tool in therapy is also a keen area of interest. Having studied at the University of Queensland, Amanda went on to work with the McIntyre Centre Riding for Disabled, focusing on developing and implementing programs for young adults with disabilities. A genuine interest and affection for people, motivates Amanda to provide ongoing assistance to people. More broadly Amanda has worked across a variety of industries in both government and private sector, gaining broad life experience and a broad range of life challenges. On a personal level, Amanda has a young family, on a property and is passionate about horses.
