Atholl provides counselling and psychotherapy for a range of issues including identity, gender, sexuality and personality, mental health, relationships (friendships, family, romantic) and developmental changes as well as trauma and crisis intervention. He has worked with young people and adults for over 20 years, in educational settings as a classroom teacher, school leader and university lecturer and researcher. He is a provisionally registered psychologist and has a particular interest in working with males, identity development, and building strong relationships, which was the focus of his research work.
Atholl’s work largely focuses on supporting change through helping young people and adults to make sense of themselves, their experiences and to build personal capacity and resilience. He uses strength-based, psychodynamic, client-centred and developmental approaches.
