Brenda Hughes Brenda Hughes is an Educational and Developmental Psychologist registered with the Psychology Board of Australia, and is a member of the Australian Psychological Society. Brenda has extensive experience working with children, adolescents, and parents, providing psychological therapy and assessment. She has experience working as a psychologist in schools and clinical settings where she has supported families using a strengths-based approach to help cope with various difficulties including: life-transitions, divorce, anxiety, depression, trauma, attachment and relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, emotion regulation, behavioural challenges, attention difficulties, and social skills. She also has a particular interest in supporting parents using attachment-based and behavioural approaches. Brenda works closely with the family and school systems and other professionals to gain a deeper understanding of her clients to support them in achieving their goals.

Brenda provides therapy in a warm, supportive environment, collaborating with her clients to tailor her therapeutic approach to the individual. She likes to engage youth in therapy by incorporating evidence-based Expressive Arts Therapy and multimedia into her sessions. Brenda is also skilled in psychometric assessment, including cognitive, behavioural and learning assessments. Brenda provides comprehensive reports which consider the whole child, providing tailored recommendations for school and home.
