Developmental delay refers to a child taking longer than expected to reach milestones in one or more areas of development compared to their peers. This can involve delays in physical skills (like walking or grasping), communication (like talking or understanding language), cognitive skills (like thinking and learning), and social/emotional skills (like interacting with others or expressing feelings). If you are seeking an assessment for a specific delay please describe your concerns in this enquiry so we link you with the correct clinicians for an assessment.

When a child has significant delays in multiple areas, it's often called Global Developmental Delay (GDD). If you are seeking assessments for Global Developmental Delay book an appointment with our Psychologist to discuss what assessments might be helpful, or ask your Paediatrician what assessments they would like completed.
