Dr Clea Headley

Clinical Psychologist

Dr Clea Headley Clea is a registered Clinical Psychologist who holds a Doctor of Psychology (Clinical) and a Bachelor of Psychological Science (Honours). She is a Member of the Australian Clinical Psychology Association (ACPA), a Board-Approved Supervisor, and is trained in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR). Clea has been practising as a psychologist for over 15 years and has worked with people across the lifespan. She is particularly passionate about supporting children, adolescents, young adults, and their families. She has extensive experience within the public mental health system, including working in both inpatient and outpatient Child and Youth Mental Health Services. Clea draws on a range of evidence-based therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), EMDR, and Family Systems approaches, including Narrative and Solution-Focused Therapy. She also conducts comprehensive psychometric assessments to evaluate cognitive functioning and learning difficulties. In addition, Clea is trained in Triple P and Circle of Security. Through her work with young people experiencing severe and complex mental health presentations, Clea is experienced in supporting individuals with a wide range of difficulties, including anxiety disorders (such as obsessive-compulsive disorder, phobias, social anxiety, and panic), depressive disorders, trauma-related difficulties, eating disorders, adjustment disorders, and neurodevelopmental conditions, including attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Clea is highly experienced in working with parents and caregivers and is passionate about strengthening reflective functioning, attachment security, and family relationships through the Circle of Security framework. Clea’s therapeutic approach is compassionate, warm, and collaborative. She strives to create a safe and supportive environment where young people and their families can explore their experiences, develop insight, and work together towards meaningful and lasting change.
