Kate Campton

Kate is a registered Special Education teacher (Early Years) who holds a Master of Education (Guidance and Counselling). She is a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS), and the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA).

Kate has over 15 years of experience working in the Education sector. Early her career, she worked in school settings that cater to an Indigenous student population. More recently, Kate has worked in a special education setting where she supported students’ communication skills using Keyword Signs, Pragmatic Organisation Dynamic Display (PODD) symbols, and tailored Aided Language Displays (ALD) boards.

Kate is passionate about advocating for mental health and wellbeing. Her skills lie in facilitating individual and family counselling sessions and advocating for individuals to reach their goals through person-centred support. She has worked with adolescents experiencing depression (mood disorders), anxiety disorders, trauma, stress, PTSD, and adjustment to major life changes, and with children who have behavioural and emotional concerns both at home and school, creating individualised strategies to address the underlying causes of the behaviours while safeguarding their dignity and quality of life.

Family dynamics are intricate systems of interaction and communication that shape and influence the relationships among family members. Understanding family dynamics is the first step towards improving them. Kate is dedicated to fostering healthier relationships among family members and contributing to better mental and emotional wellbeing.
