Melanie Whitelaw Melanie Whitelaw is a registered psychologist who has completed a Graduate Certificate in Child and Adolescent Mental Health (2025) and is a Board Approved Supervisor. Melanie is a member of the Australian Association Psychologists Inc (AAPi). Melanie is also a registered Circle of Security Parenting Facilitator and uses this framework to support parents and caregivers to strengthen attachments and relationships.

Melanie has extensive experience working within a community setting to support children and adults, with recent experience supporting those living with disability to work towards their identified goals.

Melanie also works in a school setting to support primary school aged children with mental health, learning difficulties, disability and adjustments, behavioural and emotional challenges, emotional regulation, school attendance and anxiety.

Melanie works from a compassionate, collaborative, neuroaffirming, evidence and strengths-based approach to create a safe and supportive environment for children and their families to thrive and to work towards goals that are meaningful to them. Melanie’s approach is one of curiosity and collaboration and includes children, parents and caregivers, schools and other professionals working together to understand and support the developmental needs of the child. Melanie’s techniques integrate Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), play-based therapy and client centred strategies.
